| dc.description.abstract | У статті йдеться про роман відомого сучасного українського письменника Валерія Шевчука «На полі смиренному», у якому він переосмислив традиційний сюжет «Києво-Печерського патерика». Така переробка знаного сюжету зумовлена тим, що жоден з елементів мистецтва попередніх епох не може вписатися в систему цінностей нового часу, однак «авторитет» першоджерела змушує зважати на ці елементи. Прийом переосмислення дає можливість письменнику, зберігаючи зовнішню оболонку твору, наповнити його новим, іноді протилежним первинному, змістом. Звертання письменника до традиційних композиційних структур варто поціновувати як своєрідний підсумок багатовікової взаємодії культур і відображення суттєвих тенденцій світового літературного процесу. Опрацювання Валерієм Шевчуком відомого сюжету викликане ще й тим, що процес духовного відродження потребує повернення до суспільного життя ідей та думок, що рухали нацією у її поступу до свободи, а також тим, що, порушуючи низку філософських проблем у творах, він уникає їх моралізаторсько-дидактичного трактування, а зосереджується на психологічному розв’язанні, замикаючись на проблемі особистісній: межах людської свободи і можливості її реалізації. | ua |
| dc.description.abstract | The article is about the novel of the famous contemporary Ukrainian writer Valery Shevchuk «On the field of the humble», in which he rethought the traditional plot of «Kyiv-Pechersk patericon». Such reworking of the known plot is due to the fact that none of the elements of art of previous eras can fit into the system of values of modern times, but the «authority» of the primary source makes them take into account these elements. Reception of rethinking enables the writer, while preserving the outer shell of the work, to fill it with new, sometimes opposite to the primary, content. The appeal of the writer to traditional compositional structures should be regarded as a kind of outcome of centuries-old interaction of cultures and reflection of the significant tendencies of the world literary process. Valery Shevchuk’s elaboration of the well-known story is also caused by the fact that the process of spiritual revival requires the return to the social life of ideas and thoughts that propelled the nation into its progress towards freedom, as well as by avoiding their moralizing- didactic interpretation, and focuses on the psychological solution, closing in on the problem of personal: the limits of human freedom and the possibility of its realization. We do not reject the view that the appeal to the literary monument of the days of princely times is generated by such a feature of the writer’s attitude as literature. The author took socio-ideological and moral-psychological dominants from the structure of «Paterycon» and fundamentally rethought them. The writer emphasized the desire of the authorities and their structures to destroy the feeling of freedom in man. The main character is Simeon-eremite - overcoming in the soul the confrontation between «believe» and «do not believe», between good and evil comes to the conscious rejection of the scholastic renaissance Middle Ages with a new view of man. By presenting his own version of the course of past events, Valery Shevchuk enriched the national historical romance not only with existential problems, with ironic overtones, with motivated psychological interpretation of images, with an interesting composition and story structure and with a stylistic texture. | ua |
