Роль інформаційних технологій у формуванні екологічних компетентностей студентів-географів

Abstract

У статті досліджується проблема формування екологічних компетентностей майбутніх учителів географії в умовах цифровізації освіти. Актуальність теми визначається сучасними глобальними екологічними викликами та необхідністю підготовки педагогічних кадрів, здатних виховувати екологічну свідомість і культуру в молодого покоління. Підкреслюється, що використання інформаційних технологій (ІТ) відкриває нові можливості для інтеграції екологічних знань у навчальний процес, сприяє розвитку дослідницьких умінь студентів, критичного мислення та навичок роботи з просторовими даними. У процесі дослідження здійснено аналіз наукових джерел, узагальнено педагогічний досвід та розглянуто практику використання цифрових інструментів у підготовці студентів-географів. Окрему увагу приділено потенціалу ГІС-технологій, інтерактивних картографічних сервісів, освітніх платформ (Moodle, Google Classroom), віртуальних лабораторій і мобільних додатків для формування екологічних компетентностей. Показано, що поєднання діяльнісного, проєктного та інтерактивного підходів із використанням ІТ забезпечує практико-орієнтований характер навчання та формує відповідальне ставлення студентів до довкілля. Результати дослідження засвідчують, що інтеграція інформаційних технологій у професійну підготовку майбутніх учителів географії має низку переваг: підвищення навчальної мотивації, розвиток дослідницьких та аналітичних умінь, посилення екологічної спрямованості навчального процесу. Водночас виявлено низку проблем, серед яких – недостатній рівень цифрової грамотності, обмеженість технічних ресурсів та потреба в удосконаленні методичного забезпечення. Зроблено висновок, що застосування сучасних ІТ є вагомим чинником підвищення ефективності екологічної освіти у закладах вищої освіти та важливою умовою професійного становлення майбутніх учителів географії.The article explores the issue of developing environmental competences of future geography teachers in the context of the digitalization of education. The relevance of the topic is determined by current global environmental challenges and the need to train teaching staff capable of fostering ecological awareness and culture among the younger generation. It is emphasized that the use of information technologies (IT) opens up new opportunities for integrating environmental knowledge into the educational process, promotes the development of students’ research skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work with spatial data. The study involves an analysis of scientific sources, a generalization of pedagogical experience, and a review of practices in using digital tools for training geography students. Particular attention is paid to the potential of GIS technologies, interactive cartographic services, educational platforms (Moodle, Google Classroom), virtual laboratories, and mobile applications in developing environmental competences. The results demonstrate that the integration of information technologies into the professional training of future geography teachers offers several advantages: increasing students’ learning motivation, developing research and analytical skills, and strengthening the ecological focus of the educational process. At the same time, a number of challenges have been identified, including insufficient digital literacy, limited technical resources, and the need to improve methodological support. The study concludes that the application of modern information technologies is a significant factor in enhancing the effectiveness of environmental education in higher education institutions and an important condition for the professional development of future geography teachers.
