Features of Teaching Adults a Second Foreign Language in the Context of European Integration

Abstract

В Україні все більшу популярність набирає концепція багатомовної освіти. Традиційні освітні програми базуються на двох іноземних мовах з чіткою перевагою першої або «основної» іноземної мови. Український державний університет імені Михайла Драгоманова не виняток. З мультилінгвістичним підходом змінюється концепція викладання іноземної мови, оскільки це передбачає спільне вивчення не лише мов, а й різних культур, що сприяє формуванню полікультурної багатомовної особистості, як викладача, так і студента. Таким чином, багатомовна освіта видається одним із найперспективніших напрямків у сучасній іншомовній освіті.In Ukraine, the concept of multilingual education is gaining more and more popularity. Traditional educational programs are based on two foreign languages with a clear preference for the first or "main" foreign language. Ukrainian State University named after Mykhailo Drahomanov is no exception. With a multilingual approach, the concept of teaching a foreign language changes, since it involves the joint study of not only languages, but also different cultures, which contributes to the formation of a multicultural multilingual personality, both the lecturer and the student. Thus, multilingual education seems to be one of the the most promising areas in modern foreign language education.
